Surface to Surface (STS) has made it their mission to produce best quality, innovative products for 15 years. Owner Roger Woods has 40 years experience in horizontal boring, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and micro-tunnelling. This experience in the needs of the HDD industry makes him the perfect person to lead a company and its product development for the HDD industry.

Mr. Woods stays current with industry developments both as President of STS and as a drilling project consultant.

Surface to Surface Inc. was formed in 1993 to develop a product line for the HDD industry, including patented technology that improves the performance of any drill rig. With some of the most innovative features in the market, STS is capable of developing customized mixing units to meet the needs of clients worldwide.

In the earlier years, under the banner of Roger H. Woods Limited and as a contractor, Mr. Woods saw the need for new products to assist in the boring process. Products of the type he knew would improve performance were not available commercially so he created a team to develop innovative solutions. These were originally used internally however it wasn’t long before the excellence of the products became known and desired by other contractors who wished to succeed in this challenging industry. And STS was born.

Today, STS maintains a leadership role in the HDD support field and continues to develop technically superior products.
